Tester Secures $4.2 Million for Glacier Park International Airport

Funding will be used to expand and rehabilitate aprons at the airport

U.S. Senator Jon Tester today announced $4,291,222 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants for Glacier Park International Airport to rehabilitate and expand an airport apron.

“In the wake of the economic crisis of the last 18 months, our airports are key to ensuring we can continue to create good-paying jobs and get our economy back on track,” said Tester. “I’m proud to have fought for this funding that will help Glacier Park International Airport keep Montanans connected and bolster communities in the Flathead.”

Tester secured $3,862,100 of funding from the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program. Additionally, $429,122 in matching funds were included as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which Tester helped negotiate. Tester also announced $2,111,111 in FAA and ARPA funds for Harlem Airport in Harlem.

Tester has worked tirelessly to ensure that Montana airports are able to serve their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. He was the only member of Montana’s delegation to support the American Rescue Plan, which secured $32.8 million for Montana’s airports. Last year, he also secured nearly $74 million for more than 70 airports across Montana to cover operational expenses and development projects during the public health crisis.
