Tester Statement on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
U.S. Senator Jon Tester, Ranking Member and Montana’s only member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today released the following statement in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day:
“78 years ago, Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor thrust the United States into World War II, marking ‘a date which will live in infamy.’ Beginning that day, Americans made tremendous sacrifices for our freedom, earning a place in history as this nation’s Greatest Generation. Many of them- including nearly 1,900 Montanans- sacrificed everything. Our nation has an enduring responsibility to honor their great heroism and patriotism by continuing to ensure that veterans of all wars get the care, benefits, and resources they earned.”
