Tester Delivers Win for Libby Community Health Center

Secures Over $2 Million for Quality, Affordable Health Care

(U.S. Senate) – The Northwest Community Health Center is getting a big boost, thanks to U.S. Senator Jon Tester.

Tester secured a grant, worth $2,576,806, through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“Community health centers are critical lifelines for folks in rural Montana,” Tester said. “This grant will help make sure folks in Lincoln County can get quality health care closer to where they live without breaking the bank.”

Community health centers are cost-effective primary care options for underserved and uninsured Montanans. One in 10 Montanans rely on community health centers for primary care, dental care, or mental health care.

“Northwest Community Health Center is thankful for Senator Tester’s continued leadership and support of the Community Health Center Program,” said Maria Clemons, Executive Director of the Northwest Community Health Center. “This funding is critical to maintaining access to comprehensive, high quality, affordable healthcare in our frontier communities.”

Tester has been relentless in his support of community health centers. Last year, he called out Congress after funding for community health centers expired, and he demanded funding be included in a bipartisan funding deal. He was the only member of Montana’s delegation to vote to fund community health centers.
