Tester, Daines, Gianforte Congratulate Two Montanans on Appointments to West Point

Montana Delegation Applauds Taylor Sullivan, James Riley Johnson’s Achievements

(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senators Jon Tester, Steve Daines and Representative Greg Gianforte are congratulating Helena’s Taylor Sullivan and James Riley Johnson on their appointments to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

Sullivan is the lead volunteer for the Montana Special Olympics and a National Honor Society member at Helena High School.

Johnson is a former U.S. Senate Page and plays varsity football. He currently attends Stuggart APO Germany, but calls Helena home.

“Taylor and James have both proven themselves to be excellent students and dedicated members of their community,” said Tester. “The West Point motto is ‘Duty, Honor, Country’ and those are values these young Montanans have shown through their commitment to academic excellence. I wish them both the best of luck and have no doubt they will do Montana proud.”

“West Point would be lucky to add Taylor and James to their class roster,” said Daines. “They have both excelled in academics and athletics and have been elected as leaders by their peers. I look forward to following their time in service and know they will make Montana proud.”

“Taylor and James are both outstanding students and young leaders with great potential. They will undoubtedly excel at West Point and make Montana proud,” Gianforte said. “I wish them great success.”

Montanans interested in applying to service academies can request nominations from Tester, Daines, and Gianforte.
