Tester Gathers Feedback for Infrastructure Bill in Great Falls

Senator Hosts Roundtable in Great Falls to Hear Local Needs

(Great Falls, Mont.)-After President Trump used his State of the Union Address to announce he wants a $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill, U.S. Senator Jon Tester today sat down with Great Falls stakeholders to hear from them about the community’s most pressing infrastructure needs.

Tester heard feedback from Great Falls Mayor Bob Kelly, Cascade County Commissioner Jane Weber, local business leaders, and school officials.

“It’s essential that any infrastructure bill addresses Montana’s most pressing needs,” said Tester. “That’s why I’m traveling all across our state meeting with folks face-to-face to hear from them about what they want to see in the upcoming legislation. Together we will fight for better roads and bridges, faster internet, and stronger schools.”

Earlier this month, Tester announced that he is soliciting input from Montana counties, cities and tribes. Tester is also inviting school districts, hospitals, and business organizations to weigh in.

“I write to seek your direct input on specific infrastructure priorities in your communities,” Tester wrote in a statewide letter to stakeholders. “Our nation faces a number of infrastructure challenges. I strongly believe that we must address these challenges by gathering input from local leaders, like you, who know where investments are most needed.”
