Senator Opposes Budget That Cuts Nearly $500 Billion from Medicare

(U.S. Senate)—U.S. Senator Jon Tester issued the following statement after opposing a budget bill that cuts nearly $500 billion from Medicare:

“This budget guts Medicare and rips the carpet out from underneath Montana seniors. Folks have paid into Medicare their entire lives, and I will keep fighting to make sure it is there for them when they retire and need it most.”

The budget bill passed on a vote of 51-49.
