Tester Pushes for Confirmation of Kurt Alme as U.S. Attorney

(Big Sandy, Mont.) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester is pushing Senate leaders to quickly approve the nomination of Kurt Alme as U.S. Attorney for the District of Montana.

This week, Tester approved Alme’s nomination by sending an official notice to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. Alme’s nomination is now scheduled for consideration before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, September 7th.

“Mr. Alme has some important work ahead of him. From combatting the meth epidemic to keeping Montana communities safe, we need long term leadership in this position. I urge the Senate to quickly confirm Mr. Alme for this critical post.”

Tester interviewed Alme for the position in June.
