Tester, Isakson Applaud House Introduction of Legislation to Improve GI Bill

Sweeping legislation would help improve veterans’ education benefits, senators encouraged by bipartisan agreement

(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Johnny Isakson, (R-GA), Ranking Member and Chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives’ introduction of legislation that will make critical improvements to the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

“We applaud the House for putting together a bill that addresses so many of our veterans’ and surviving families’ most urgent needs in the Post-9/11 GI Bill,” the Senators said. “We are grateful to Chairman Roe and Ranking Member Walz for their tireless dedication to our veterans and look forward to working in the Senate on similar legislation to address these critical issues.”

Tester and Isakson are currently working closely with their colleagues in Congress and veterans service organizations on companion legislation to be introduced in the Senate to enhance the Post-9/11 GI Bill and help veterans succeed in their desired field.
