U.S. House Unanimously Passes Tester's Bill to Improve the VA Choice Program
Veterans' Bill Heads to President's Desk to be Signed into Law
(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed his bipartisan bill to improve the VA Choice Program for veterans in Montana:
“This is the first step in reforming the VA Choice Program to make it work better for veterans in Montana. In a rural state like ours it’s important that veterans can access a doctor closer to home, but we need to make sure the process isn’t bogged down with bureaucracy. I’m thankful Republicans and Democrats in Congress worked together for veterans by passing my legislation to begin addressing some of these obstacles. I look forward to seeing the President sign it into law.”
On Monday the U.S. Senate unanimously passed the legislation, sponsored by Tester with support from Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) and Jerry Moran (R-Kansas).
