Tester urges IRS to make all tax forms available online ASAP
Recent news report found not all tax forms available in hard copy or online
(U.S. Senate) – As thousands of Montana taxpayers prepare to file their 2015 returns, Senator Jon Tester is pushing the IRS to make sure filers have easy access to every form they need.
The IRS chose to remove tax forms and publications from taxpayer assistance offices and place them online. However, a recent news story revealed that at least one of the necessary forms for some constituents is not currently available in a usable way online.
Tester, in a letter to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, called on the agency to make all tax forms and publications available online immediately.
“Tax season is often a stressful time for many Americans and with even more complexity being added to our tax code, it is important that we find ways to streamline the process,” Tester wrote. “Both the taxpayer and the IRS would benefit from having all necessary forms readily accessible via the Internet.”
