Tester statement on Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision

(BIG SANDY, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby – exempting the corporation from its requirement to provide contraceptive coverage to its employees:

“The Supreme Court got it wrong. Corporations are not people and they should not be interfering in a woman’s access to basic health care. This decision allows corporate executives to extend their reach from the boardroom to the bedroom and that’s unacceptable.”

Tester – a longtime advocate of the right to privacy – has continually stood up for a woman’s right to make family planning decisions in private.
