Tester statement on campus sexual assault report

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after the White House Task Force to Protect Students From Sexual Assault released its first report on sexual assault on college campuses:

“As a father and grandfather, I want to make sure that when our kids go off to college to learn, they are safe from harm. Sexual assault on our campuses is completely unacceptable, and today’s report is an important first step towards keeping students safe. I will keep pushing for an open, transparent process to make sure survivors get the care they deserve and to prevent future attacks on our students.”

Tester recently called on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees health services to adequately fund the Clery Compliance Team to investigate sexual assault cases.
