Tester nominates Barb Riley to National School Boards Association council
Senator praises Columbia Falls’ resident’s leadership, commitment to students
(BIG SANDY, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester is calling for Columbia Falls’ Barb Riley to continue serving as a director of the National School Boards Association (NSBA).
Riley, a real estate agent from Columbia Falls, just completed a three-year term as the Regional Director for Western schools and hopes to continue serving with the organization and helping students.
“Barb’s leadership is a valuable asset to the students she serves – whether in Columbia Falls or anywhere across our nation,” said Tester, a former teacher. “She has a wide range of experiences and perspectives that shape her approach to education policy, and I know she will continue putting her Montana expertise to good use improving how our kids learn so they are ready for the future.”
Riley joined the Columbia Falls school board in 1995 and has served as president of the Montana School Boards Association and as chair of the Montana Schools Unemployment Insurance Program.
The NSBA is an organization with more than 90,000 school board members that works with state and local officials to advocate for responsible education policy throughout the nation.
