Tester commends ‘hard-working’ public servants

Senator hails ‘unsung heroes’ that support Montana families, veterans

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester is celebrating Public Service Recognition Week by highlighting the many ways public servants help Americans lead stronger, healthier lives.

Tester, who introduced the Senate measure designating this week in honor of public servants, says he wants to make sure those who commit themselves to helping other Americans get the credit they deserve.

“From our troops and firefighters to teachers to workers at the VA, public employees who go the extra mile to make Montana and America better places to live and work deserve our respect,” Tester said. “We can always find more ways to make government more efficient, but we must also take time to recognize the unsung heroes who work hard on our behalf.”

Public servants range from federal government employees to local government workers. They include members of the military, state health officials, and local agriculture officers.

“They keep us safe, strengthen our economy, and take care of our veterans,” Tester said.

Tester introduced his Senate Resolution earlier this year as the new chairman of the Senate subcommittee that oversees the federal workforce.
