Tester statement on Veterans Jobs Corps bill

(U.S. SENATE) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after voting in favor of the Veterans Jobs Corps Bill. Despite Tester’s vote, the measure failed to get the 60 votes needed to move forward:

“Today a handful of politicians stood in the way of making it easier to hire veterans and to increase the number of job counselors for veterans in rural America. Election-year politics should never come before living up to the promises made to America’s veterans. Our veterans deserve better.”

The Veterans Jobs Corps Bill was fully paid-for.
