Tester Memorial Day Message

(PARK CITY, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following Memorial Day message:

Since the start of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, nearly 6,500 American heroes – including 43 Montanans – paid the ultimate sacrifice to our country.  Since the founding of our great nation, countless Americans have died for our freedoms, and we will always honor their sacrifice.

As folks across Montana and the rest of our nation gather today to show respect for the bravery and the selflessness of America’s fallen service members, we thank all of our service members and their families, and we should renew our efforts to live up to the promises made to them.

We must honor these commitments by making sure they have access to quality health care and by making it easier for them to find good-paying jobs when they return home.

As your Senator, I will work every day to make sure that our veterans can get the care that they deserve and that the promises we made to them are not broken.

Thank you for this opportunity to honor our family members and friends.  They will work every day to ensure that Montana stays the greatest state in the greatest country in the world.
