Google to attend Tester’s upcoming Treasure State Export Seminar
Internet giant to help Montana small businesses with global business marketing opportunities
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Internet giant Google will take part in Senator Jon Tester’s June 3 Treasure State Export Seminar, Tester announced today.
Tester’s Treasure State Export Seminar is a daylong event in Billings to create jobs and boost the state’s economy by expanding opportunities to sell Montana goods and services to customers in other countries.
Google is partnering at the seminar with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) to help Montana’s small businesses use the Internet to take advantage of marketing opportunities around the globe.
All interested Montanans are invited to attend the June 3 seminar, to be held at Rocky Mountain College, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
“I’m proud to have the folks at Google and the Ex-Im Bank show Montana’s manufacturers, farmers, and ranchers and service providers the gold mine of opportunity available in exports,” Tester said. “By opening the door to new markets for small businesses in Montana, we’ll continue opening the door for new jobs and business for Montanans.”
The Treasure State Export Seminar will feature various workshops and speakers, including a keynote address from Fred Hochberg, Chairman of the Ex-Im Bank. The seminar is part of a series of Exports Live! seminars organized by the Export-Import Bank of the Ex-Im Bank across the country.
“Our aim is to let Montanans know that there is literally an entire world of new opportunity out there to do business,” Hochberg said. “A lot of companies, especially some small businesses, don't take advantage of it because they simply don't know the tools available to them. Sen. Tester's export seminar will introduce Montanans to those tools, and I'm proud to be a part of it. We are excited to bring our partnership with Google to Billings.”
The Export-Import Bank of the United States is an independent, self-sustaining federal agency that provides loan guarantees and insurance for businesses interested in exporting goods and services to other countries.
The Treasure State Export Seminar is free and open to the public, but anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP at tester.senate.gov/export, or by calling Tester’s office toll-free at 866-554-4403.
