Baucus, Tester: Missoula airport to receive $600k for new taxiway

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Missoula International Airport will receive more than $600,000 to help rebuild its taxiway, thanks to a federal grant announced today by Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester.

“This is great news for Missoula and for communities across Western Montana,” said Baucus, chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee.  “Montana’s a big state and we rely on air travel to do business, host visitors, and for medical care.  These dollars will go a long way.”

“This is a smart investment in basic infrastructure that will rebuild our economy,” said Tester, a member of the influential Senate Appropriations Committee.  “This funding will pave the way for new opportunities for thousands of folks who live in and visit the Big Sky State.”

The $604,836 grant to the Missoula County Airport Authority comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
