The funding will be focused on solving specific job training skills, and retention issues that impact long term workforce development.
“I’m committed to creating more good paying jobs for the many Montanans, who are so close to financial security they can almost taste it,” Baucus said. “This grant will help folks get the training they need to find and keep the good paying job that’s perfect for them. This grant is about taking care of Montanans so they can take care of their families.”
“Boosting the skills of our workforce is key to our success as Montanans,” Tester said. “Upgrading their skills will help hard working folks get the jobs they need to put food on the table and smiles on their family’s faces. Investing in a long term workforce is absolutely the right move.”
The funding was awarded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Directed Grants program.
