Senators announce $200,000 for homeland security in Montana
Baucus, Tester say money will be used to protect critical infrastructure
will receive $199,000 to protect areas surrounding critical infrastructure sites, including dams and power plants.
The Buffer Zone Protection Program, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, provides grants to build security and risk-management programs for critical infrastructure and key resources sites, including dams, refineries, and power plants.
Understanding the need for infrastructure investment, the current Congress increased funding for this vital program. Both Baucus and Tester supported the measure.

,” Baucus said. “All Montanans benefit when key resource sites in the state are well protected. Adequate funding of federal agencies means these dollars are keeping folks in Big Sky country safe and creating good paying jobs at the same time.”

The grant will be awarded by the Department of Homeland Security.
