Tester anxious to give ‘thumbs up’ to Farm Bill

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Senator Jon Tester, a third-generation family farmer, today released the following statement in response to word that Senate and House negotiators have reached an agreement on the Farm Bill:

"I'm anxious to give a thumbs up to this Farm Bill so we can send it to President Bush, and I call on him to sign it.  We can't afford to have this administration play political games with our nation's food security and Montana's agricultural heritage.

Thanks to Max, Montana has had a seat at the table during this complicated negotiation process, and he helped craft a measure that works for all Montanans and helps boost our rural communities."
