High school senior looks forward to military service

For many young people in America today, what they want to do in the future is a mystery. However, one Sidney High School senior has known exactly what she wants to do for as long as she can remember.

Breanna Frank has always wanted to serve her country through military service.

“I always wanted to serve.” said Frank. That dream to serve was only reinforced when Frank worked with a former member of the United States Air Force at her mother’s clinic. Major of the United States Air Force Paul Pfennig encouraged Frank to consider the Air Force Academy. And for Frank, who loves airplanes and wants to serve, the academy sounded like an enticing option for college. However, there were a few steps to go before she could enroll.

After a long and grueling process in which Frank had to partake in an interview with six military officers as well as multiple government officials, she received a call from U.S. Sen. Jon Tester’s office last week. Tester nominated Frank for admission into the United States Marine and the United States Air Force Academy.

“I was shocked and excited,” she saidregarding the call in which she learned of her nomination. The three sport athlete and member of Sidney High School National Honor Society is currently thinking she will enroll in biology at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Frank thanks Stacey Collins, Michelle and Donald Frank, Cameron Trudell, Kevin Beagle, Paul Pfenni, and Sen. Tester for helping her obtain this crucial step in achieving her goal.
