The U.S. Small Business Administration's annual Small Business  Week awards ceremony was held at the Gallatin Gateway Inn on Wednesday.

Outstanding small business owners and advocate champions from across the state were honored in various categories for their achievements and contributions to Montana's economy.

One of those honored was Bozeman pet products business West Paw Design.

"I think being honored by the SBA for the statewide award is really exciting for West Paw as a company, because we're small and we still work very hard to export to countries around the world and as a U.S.-based manufacturer. In fact, we do all our manufacturing here in Bozeman. It's very unique to export American-made products, and it feels really great and its very exciting for our staff," Spencer Williams of West Paw Design said.

Senator Jon Tester spoke at the awards ceremony about how proud he is of Montana's success.

"We're strongest when we work together, and I want you to know that you keep up your good work on your end and I will do what I can to expand opportunities to create jobs throughout Montana and throughout this country so we can grow Montana's economy," Tester said.

Outstanding entrepreneurs and small business advocate champions were nominated in a variety of categories to compete for the awards.
