Senator Tester Pushes to Keep Montana Traditions

MISSOULA, Mont. — Senator Jon Tester wants congress to lighten up on some proposed budget cuts for conservation groups.

Tester chairs the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus. He says access to hunting and fishing lands are crucial to Montanans.

And the proposed federal cuts to some conservation programs would harm those state traditions.

"Making sure we have access to our federal lands…Making sure we do the best we can to make sure we have great hunting and fishing habitat for big game and fisheries and the likes. And making sure we pass on our heritage to the next generation," Senator Tester said of his message to conservation groups.
