BILLINGS – The President signs Senator Jon Tester's VOW to Hire Heroes Act into law Monday. The legislation provides tax breaks to companies that hire unemployed Veterans.

It will also help provide vets, including the tens of thousands returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, with job training and counseling.

It's the first proposal included in the president's jobs bill to win congressional approval.

The Democrat said it’ll do great things for our Veterans.

“We do a really good job in this country making warriors, we don't do near as good a job getting them adapted back into civilian life,” said Tester.

The Veterans legislation also repeals a 2006 law that would require the federal, state and local governments to withhold 3% of their payments to contractors.

The bill was overwhelmingly approved by Congress last week with bipartisan support.
