In Kalispell, Tester Discusses Health Care Savings & Cutting Costs for Montanans

Tester spoke alongside health care, community leaders at Logan Health

U.S. Senator Jon Tester today held a press conference with health care and community leaders at Logan Health in Kalispell to discuss the significant health care savings for Montana seniors in the Inflation Reduction Act, and his continued efforts to cut costs for Montanans.

“Too many politicians in Washington don’t understand the challenges Montana families face – and for years they’ve promised to get a handle on the outrageous cost of health care, but it’s been all talk,” said Tester. “That’s why I’m proud to have passed targeted legislation that will cut costs for Montanans and hold corporate special interests accountable. I’ll always take on anyone in Washington to make sure Montana’s seniors, families, and the folks that care for them have access to lower costs.”

Tester was joined by Logan Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cory Short, Former State Legislator Mike Jopek, Retired Special Education Teacher Nancy Millette, and retired Navy Veteran Tom Humphreys.

Tester has led the charge to cut costs for Montana’s families and seniors. The Inflation Reduction Act requires Medicare to negotiate drug prices, caps out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for Medicare patients at $2,000/year, caps the cost of insulin for Medicare patients at $35/ month, and extends Affordable Care Act provisions to prevent price hikes for thousands of Montanans. The legislation was signed into law in August 2022 and is fully paid for by holding corporations and billionaires accountable.
