In Butte, Tester Fields Questions from Montanans at Public Town Hall

Senator is the only member of the Montana congressional delegation to hold public town halls

U.S. Senator Jon Tester today answered questions and solicited feedback from a crowd of more than 100 constituents at Montana Tech in Butte during an in-person town hall that was free and open to the public.

“Every decision that I make is based on what’s best for Montanans, which is why I’ve always held public town halls to hear directly about the issues folks are facing,” said Tester. “I’m looking forward to taking the feedback and important conversations I had in Butte with me to Washington so I can keep fighting for the best bosses in the world – the people of Montana.”

Before taking questions, Tester emphasized the importance of in-person town halls and the need for more transparency and open communication in government. Tester then opened the floor to questions concerning his work advocating for Montana veterans, the importance of transparency at the EPA for the Butte community, boosting teacher pay, and the Israel-Hamas war, among other topics.

Tester is the only member of the Montana congressional delegation to hold public, in-person town hall meetings. He recently held a series of public Farm Bill listening sessions across Montana to hear from producers and stakeholders in Havre, Sidney, Glasgow, and Plentywood about their priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill.
