U.S. Senator Jon Tester was also sworn in today, beginning his 2nd term.

Tester pledged to cut debt while providing certainty he says Montana businesses need to create jobs and strengthen the economy.

Tester says, “Nobody does this job alone. Every Montanan does a part of this job. We’ve got incredible challenges out there, not the least of which is getting our fiscal house in order. We need to work together to make that happen. It is very, very important. But there are other challenges equally as important. And I look forward to meeting those challenges, working on ways to get a Farm Bill that works for this country, have adequate infrastructure, especially for rural states like Montana. So we have incredible opportunities and I look forward to working on those issues as we move forward in the next few years.”

Tester serves on the several senate committees and is the chairman of the economic policy subcommittee. Meanwhile, former Republican Congressman Denny Rehberg, who lost to Tester in November says he will not run for a political office again.
