Kevin Jagoda, a Helena High School graduate, has been accepted into the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after being nominated by U.S. Senator Jon Tester.

Tester said on Thursday that Kevin "will make a fine addition to Montana's rich history of military service."

A 2010 graduate of Helena High School, Jagoda was the Cadet Squadron Commander for the Lewis & Clark Squadron of the Montana Civil Air Patrol.

He also served as a volunteer with the York Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Jagoda is currently participating in an academy preparation program at the Marion Military Institute in Alabama.

Jagoda is one of 31 Montana students Tester nominated to military academies based on their academic achievement, leadership, community service, and participation in extracurricular activities.

He is the fourth student nominated by Tester to be accepted to a military academy for the class of 2015.
