NBC Montana: Tester discusses efforts in protecting Montanans’ access to reproductive health care

by Michael Santoscoy

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester held a press conference at HRDC’s Marketplace in Bozeman on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.

Tester was joined by local health care providers and Bozeman residents to discuss his focus on protecting Montanans’ access to reproductive care.

Tester says he continues to support bills to defend women’s freedom and privacy and safeguard access to in vitro fertilization for women, veterans and service members.

However, he said it continues to be an uphill battle to get bills passed, and more work needs to be done.

“That right to privacy includes ensuring women get to make their own health care decisions. Not a judge. Not a politician. Not a bureaucrat at any level of government. Montana sent me to Washington to fight for Montana values like freedom and privacy, and I will continue to do that,” said Tester.
