NonStop Local: Cold Weather Assignment Incentive Pay raise announced for airmen at Malmstrom AFB

On Tuesday, April 2, US Sen. Jon Tester announced a Cold Weather Assignment Incentive Pay (AIP-CW) raise for airmen at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Funding for the AIP-CW raise that will be provided to Malmstrom was authorized by Tester as part of a vote for the FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

The additional payment is intended to help Malmstrom servicemembers offset the cost of cold weather expenses such as extreme cold weather gear, all-season and/or snow tires, winter tire mounts and alignments, engine block heaters, and emergency winter car kits.

Senator Tester and Senator Daines previously announced major wins for Montana and American Servicemembers earlier this year as part of the FY2024 NDAA, including $10.3 million for MAFB construction and land acquisition.
