Tester statement on Firefighting Airtanker Crash

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement in response to the airtanker crash that killed two crewmembers as they fought a wildfire near the Utah-Nevada border:

“Air tanker pilots go to incredible lengths and take tremendous risks to protect Montanans from wildfire.  Sharla and I will keep the families of Todd Neal Tompkins and Ronnie Edwin Chambless, and all our friends at Neptune Aviation, in our thoughts and prayers.”

The two men, both from Boise, Idaho, died Sunday afternoon while fighting the White Rock fire west of Cedar City, Utah.
