Tester statement on Blackfeet Water Rights Settlement bill

(MISSOULA, Mont.) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester released the following statement on the reintroduction of the Blackfeet Water Rights Settlement bill:

“Fair water rights are critical for creating good-paying jobs and strengthening the economy. This settlement is a great example of folks sitting down, working through their differences, and finding common ground on one of the most important resources we’ve got. Now it is up to Congress to live up to our promise to the Blackfeet people.”

Tester is a member of the Indian Affairs Committee. Senator Max Baucus is a co-sponsor of the bill.
