Tester: House investigation of Planned Parenthood 'politically motivated'

(BILLINGS, Mont.) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement in response to a politically motivated investigation of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America by the U.S. House of Representatives:

"After defunding Planned Parenthood, the House is now trying to wipe out access to health care and freedom of choice with more bureaucratic red tape that invades the privacy of millions of women. This is another irresponsible attack on Montana's values. This is what the House is doing instead of creating jobs?"

As a Title X organization, Planned Parenthood is audited regularly.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee recently announced an investigation anyway, saying it wants to examine the organization's use of funding.
