Tester statement on the 40th Anniversary of the Montana Constitution

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement commemorating the 40th anniversary of the ratification of the Montana Constitution:

“The men and women of the Constitutional Convention guaranteed that Montana’s way of life would be passed down to future generations.  Thanks to their vision, we live in a state with the best constitution in the country.”

The 1972 Constitution was drafted by the 100-member Constitutional Convention.  It replaced the previous constitution that went into force in 1889.
