Tester response to Mukasey’s nomination as U.S. Attorney General

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Senator Jon Tester released the following statement in response to President Bush's nomination of Michael B. Mukasey to succeed Alberto Gonzales as U.S. Attorney General:

"It's critically important to confirm a U.S. Attorney General who values American justice far more than his temporary place in American politics.  From terrorism to drugs and everything in between, this is a job that leaves no room for error or time for politics.  I look forward to meeting Mr. Mukasey and, after a thorough hearing, seeing if he's the right person for it."
