Tester votes in favor of bipartisan tax cut plan ‘to create jobs’

Senator calls compromise ‘a victory for all Americans’

(U.S. SENATE) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after voting in favor of a bipartisan compromise to cut taxes for all Americans:

“Everyone benefits under this bipartisan compromise to create jobs and rebuild our economy.  This plan isn’t the plan I would have written, but it cuts taxes for the folks who need tax relief the most—middle-class families, small businesses and family farms and ranches.  They are the real job creators in this country, and aiming tax relief squarely at them required working together—and that’s a victory for all Montanans.”

Earlier this month, Tester voted for a separate tax relief plan which did not receive the 60 votes needed to move forward in the Senate.
