Tester, Baucus congratulate Gillan on new post
Senators: Kim will continue to serve Montanans
(U.S. SENATE) – Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus today released the following statements congratulating former Montana State Senator Kim Gillan on becoming the new Region VIII Director for the Department of Health and Human Services:
“Kim is an outstanding public servant who will continue to serve Montanans in her new role,” Tester said. “Finding more ways to improve the health and well-being of Montanans and all Americans will move our state and our nation forward, and I look forward to working with Kim in the future.”
“Having Kim’s perspective in this role is a win for Montana and for folks across the region,” Baucus said. “Working hard and working together are a couple of Kim’s strong points which our state and our nation need as we work to make sure more people have access to health care they can afford.”
Gillan will work with western governors, mayors and local officials to strengthen partnerships between the federal and local levels and implement Health and Human Services’ policies. Region VIII includes Montana, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
Gillan, who currently lives in Red Lodge, previously represented Billings in the Montana State Senate and House of Representatives.
