Tester statement on Interior Department’s sage grouse announcement

(U.S. Senate)-Senator Jon Tester today hailed the Interior Department’s announcement that the sage grouse no longer warrants listing as a threatened or endangered species:

“This once again proves that on-the-ground collaboration works, and when Montanans come together to tackle tough issues we can strike a balance that works for everyone. This announcement shows we can increase conservation, protect family farms and ranches, preserve hunting and fishing access and support energy jobs in Montana.”

Last week, Tester met with Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and urged her to continue working with Montanans to support local economies and prevent the listing of the sage grouse.
