Tester Hears Legislative Priorities from Major Veterans’ Advocates

Senator Wraps Up Series of Hearings with America’s Veterans

(U.S. Senate) – Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Jon Tester today oversaw the fifth and final Joint Hearing of the Senate and House Committees on Veterans’ Affairs to hear the legislative priorities of the nation’s leading Veterans Service Organizations.

“I welcome this opportunity to hear from veterans’ advocates about their priorities for those of us who work on their behalf,” said Tester, following the hearing. “I look forward to working with every member of Congress, veterans’ advocates, and the VA to make sure that we are honoring veterans in Montana and across the nation by providing them with the care and benefits that they have earned.”

Veterans Service Organizations that presented at today’s hearing include the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the Fleet Reserve Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Ex-Prisoners of War Organization, the Blinded Veterans Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, the Military Officers Association of America, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
