Tester Statement on the Confirmation of Montana U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme

(U.S. Senate)—U.S. Senator Jon Tester today issued the following statement after supporting the confirmation of Montana U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme:

“I proudly supported Mr. Alme’s confirmation because he is the right fit for the job. It is critical that Mr. Alme quickly hit the ground running, and I will work closely with him to curb the meth epidemic and keep Montana communities safe.”  

Alme was unanimously confirmed by the Senate.

Tester interviewed Alme for the position in June and raised a series of issues including improving communication between the FBI and tribal law enforcement officers, fighting growing meth use in Montana, and holding violent criminal offenders accountable. He then pushed Senate leaders to quickly confirm him.
