Bozeman-area Head Start Program Receives $1.4 Million Grant Following Tester’s Efforts

Funding will provide education and nutritional services for kids, families

(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today announced he has secured a $1.4 million grant for a Bozeman Head Start Program.

The $1,487,084 grant will benefit the Human Resource Development Council Head Start program, which provides educational, nutritional, and social services to children and families in an effort to help the next generation hit the ground running in kindergarten and beyond.

“Every student deserves a chance at success, and Head Start often makes the difference for Montana kids,” Tester said. “These resources will help pave the way for our next generation and support strong families in Bozeman.”

As a former school teacher and school board member, Tester is a longtime supporter of Head Start. Last April he worked with Republicans and Democrats to secure $9.8 billion for Head Start initiatives across the country. He also recently announced $1 million for Head Start in eastern Montana, $2.8 million for Head Start in Missoula and $2.2 million for Helena-area Head Start programs.
