Tester Statement on Withdrawal of Small Business Vaccine Mandate

U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after the Biden Administration withdrew its Occupational Safety and Health Administration rule mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for private businesses with more than 100 employees:

“The Administration made the right choice in siding with Montanans and withdrawing the private business vaccine mandate. I don’t believe the federal government should be telling these private businesses how to operate when it comes to vaccines, and I’ve heard from Montana business owners and employees who made clear this mandate would have been unworkable. I continue to strongly urge every eligible Montanan to join me in getting vaccinated as soon as possible so we can end this pandemic.”

Last month, Tester broke from President Biden and his party and voted in favor of a Congressional Review Act resolution opposing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rule mandating coronavirus vaccinations for private businesses with more than 100 employees. Tester also supported the recent Supreme Court ruling blocking the enforcement of the small business mandate.
