Tester announces Women’s Small Business Opportunity Workshop

Public workshop scheduled for July 22 in Billings

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester’s next Small Business Opportunity Workshop will focus on creating jobs by expanding opportunities for Montana’s entrepreneurs with a specific focus on women.

Tester’s workshop will be held on July 22 at Montana State University-Billings’ downtown campus, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.  It will be Tester’s eighth Small Business Opportunity Workshop.

The free event will include Montana women business owners as well as experts in business administration.  Topics will include marketing and branding, social media use and access to capital.

“As we strengthen Montana’s small businesses by empowering them with tools needed to create more jobs, we also need to expand opportunities for the thousands of Montana women looking to start or jumpstart their own companies,” Tester said.  “Women business owners face some unique challenges and opportunities.  And this workshop will provide resources and ideas from folks who have a strong record of creating jobs through successful small businesses.”

Tester’s workshop is free and open to the public.  Montanans interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at tester.senate.gov/workshop.

Tester’s Billings workshop builds on the success of his previous small business and jobs workshops across the state.  More than 1,500 Montana companies and individuals have attended Tester’s workshops in Great Falls, Bozeman, Kalispell, Billings and Missoula.
